IEFF's mission is to contribute to the development, dynamization and rejuvenation of the business fabric of the municipality of Figueira da Foz and the region in which it operates, by supporting the constitution, installation and development of new technological and / or industrial-based companies, or acting in the area of services with significant added value, providing them with adequate technical and physical conditions. Currently stands out as Incubator of the Sea and Industry trying to develop and support new projects in this area.

MARE STARTUP is a program of entrepreneurship and support to marine business innovation launched in the 2015. This initiative aims to stimulate businesses through a program to create new companies and support business innovation in the sector, involving near 600 researchers from areas such as marine biology and biotechnology, logistics, maritime law, management, and economics.

The main objective of the Project is to foster support for entrepreneurship, so that a sustainable development model can be achieved, based on increased cooperation and innovation in the sector, resulting from the applicability of TICE in production processes, making them operationally more efficient and increasing their sustainability.
